Weekend in Dorset
Last weekend (11-13 October), Praxis and the Society of St Francis, with the support of London Hosting, took 10 adults and 7 children from our destitution projects to Hillfield Friary, Dorset. This was a chance to get some much needed time out. It was the first time out of London for a few. Children enjoyed running out in the forest, finding out about new vegetables and nuts and even fed the animals for the most daring. On Saturday we drove to Lyme Regis and had the most beautiful afternoon by the sea – celebrated with Fish & Chips. The only regret for all was that it was so short. We hope to go back to Hillfield again during children school holidays. We would also like to say a huge THANK YOU to the Hillfield Community for allowing us to share their lives for a couple of days and making us part of their community.
